Mark 50 was fully made of nanotech, Tony learned from his mistake and mixed nanotech with some of the hard shell from previous suits. that's why the MARK85 shield wasn't a nanoshield

The mark 85 is Tony’s most advanced and powerful suit the three main reasons it’s so powerful is because it can redirect lightning blasts and has a force field for a shield and of course it can wield the infinity stones and if you remember the suit was not even damaged when Thor threw mjolnir and was barely damaged from the infinity stones
