That story hit me so hard because I had experienced that exactly. But instead of not being picked a bridesmaid, I realized the woman I thought was my best friend was not missing me at all when she came to the city I lived in to go to a concert with her other friend and didn’t even tell me. When I asked her about it she admitted that the thought to just say hi didn’t even occur to her. I felt like my whole world was turned upside down.
