most people aren't living in those homes. they're investment properties. they buy and rent out or airbnb.

Honestly, people have way more money than you even think. So many of these are vacation homes / second homes and are just empty most of the time.

I’m not saying the price is justified, I’m just saying that you could buy a house that price in TN, but it doesn’t have a beach near it. Yuck… I’d take the beachfront house if I had that kind of money. The neighbors are pretty close for that price though, imo.
