Picking back up with the construction of our dog shelter. 👷🏾‍♀️ Recap: In Texas, shelters are overflowing, and countless dogs are being dumped—discarded by their owners with nowhere to go. Myself Bionca Smith, the founder of Off The Grid Animal Sanctuary, has been stepping in to save these dogs, giving them a second chance at life. But running an independent sanctuary comes with its challenges, and we’re experiencing growing pain and we need your help to move forward. In December, we reached a major milestone—getting electricity in our dog house! After nearly a year of working in the dark with only headlamps, having power was a game-changer. Thank you to everyone who supported that fundraiser! Since then, we’ve been able to add a lamp, security camera, and even a TV for the dogs to enjoy while they wait for recess. But now, we’ve hit a roadblock. We cannot complete construction or install our HVAC system until we insulate, wire, and soundproof the building. Spray foam insulation is our next critical step, and we need to raise $9,711 to make it happen. Why This Matters ✔️ Insulation will keep the dog house cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter—a must for Texas heat. ❌We can’t install the AC until this step is done. ⚠️We’ll need to move all the dogs out for 3-5 days to complete the insulation safely. Boarding is expensive, and finding fosters in Texas is incredibly difficult, so we need to raise the funds quickly to schedule the work and keep the disruption as short as possible. Ways You Can Help: 💰 Donate – Every dollar helps us move forward and provide a safe, comfortable space for rescued dogs. 📢 Share – Help us reach more people!
