Maybe you’ve already tried it, but my girls wouldn’t take a paci and are breast fed. I used “the paci” pacifier and it works wonderfully I also sometimes put gas drops on the paci to help at first. We had a friend that had a hard time finding a paci for their baby they tried like 30 different pacis I gave them one of ours that we just bought and it worked for them to

My doctor said when they smiled for the first time is an indicator of how behind they are. so my 34weeker smile at 9 weeks actual. so instead of being corrected by 6 weeks we corrected by 3 weeks as normally babies smile at 6 weeks

Oh now I’m having flashbacks. Ex 34 weeker premie and noticed “mental maturity” bc yes he was out of the womb. Hear me out…do you have a Fisher Price kick piano? Toys that light up for tummy time? We introduced these “toys” to stimulate their brain and then made him more tired!

Hot take but just give what the baby needs! Feed if she’s hungry, sleep if she’s tired. No need to stick to a schedule especially at this age

I also had a 33 week premie! Our guy was the same, I found for sleeping we went with wake windows for his actual age because he also first slept through the night around the same time. Once we tried the actual age wake windows it helped a lot! We didn’t do set times yet for a sleep schedule (started those around 5-6 months) but following actual age wake windows was game changer. Good luck! 💕

Hiii preemie mom here. My daughter is two weeks older than Juliette. I haven’t gotten it figured out yet either, but basically I watch for the really early cues like tugging or fussing with her ears, eye rubbing, super hyper and active and then quickly stopping… and as soon as I see that, a power ounce-1.5oz and I rock her to sleep. Naps are still like 27 min 😂😭 all of this to say…I don’t know.

👋Hi there! My recommendation is to use adjusted age for sleep milestones and expectations for your sweet girl until she’s 4-5 months old. At the 4-5 month mark, she may be “caught up” to her peers in terms of sleep expectations. I have so many resources for you! Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you’re struggling! ❤️You’re doing great! Hang in there!

Download napper. It was life saving, it studies your baby’s patterns for 7 days and then it gives you a “schedule”. The more information you input the more accurate it will be

Honestly, just trust the baby. Adjusted or not, they ALL go through this stage. And it’s just a stage. Within a few days/weeks, it’s over

That’s not a premie baby thing. Just a baby thing lol. It happens. I had 3 (2 who were born at 34w and in the nicu for a month). Babies are wild and don’t stick to a schedule always.

I did so many contact naps with my preemie a wrap carrier saved me, didn’t start tracking wake windows till 6months. He’s three now and has always been ahead on his Milestones so I don’t believe in going off of their due date vs actual birth date.

What developmental milestones has she hit? I don’t have kids so take this w a grain of salt but if she’s on track with X month milestones for instance maybe try a sleep schedule for that age?

Two 34 weekers here. I’m also a doula and LC. We did not do corrected ages, they hit all milestones according to their actual ages. corrected ages work for some babies mostly micro- prems (like 26 weekers) because their development is usually delayed but if you see that your baby is hitting their milestones consistently at their actual age then keep going with that. Also had a fomo baby with my first. Good luck!

Don’t overthink it! Every baby is different, and sleep needs will vary. If she is sleeping theough the night (lucky you! omg) Try 8 hrs at night and 4 naps a day. Adjust up and down as she grows…

Hey 👋 32-weeker premie mum here! I totally get what you mean! Corrected age helped us not to expect our little one to hit actual age milestones when his body had to work so much harder than a full-term baby of the same age. Our boy was often ahead in corrected milestones and even hitting actual ones, but there were times when things were closer to corrected. I often reminded myself that every baby is unique and might have random phases outside their usual routine. It’s really tough as a premie parent not to worry extra over everything, but we ended up following our boy’s cues. If he consistently skipped a nap or slept longer overnight, we took it as a sign he was ready. But if it only happened once or twice, we figured it was just a quirky little event. 💕

It is so unique. I found I couldn’t follow a “schedule” and just went off her cues. I knew generally how long WW should be we were usually on the short end for WW of the non corrected age

I let my twins pick their schedule and then kept them on it. They were awake from 7-7 with one nap from 11-4. See what works best for her!

Take this with a grain of salt (I didn’t have a preemie) but I did use the huckleberry and I loved it. It does the wake window stuff and if you stay flexible for a bit I find it NAILED the sleep times.

My daughter was born the same gestation as Juliette, I calculated my daughters corrected age from when she got out of the incubator into a cot, an incubator is supposed to be a secondary womb to help baby develop as they would in the womb, so it didn’t make sense to me to judge her development from her due date when she was out of the incubator and home for more than a month, I still kept to her due date for things like honey, weaning off formula but her development was too advanced for her corrected age for me to judge it properly and I would’ve been holding her back otherwise, I didn’t do any nap schedules or bedtimes or anything though she just done it herself and it eventually worked out when she was about 12/14 weeks old x
