"Promise." Dani nodded. "Good." For the next few days, it became a routine. Dani waited for Soph before class. She walked with her between classes. She saved her a seat at lunch. Whenever Soph entered the classroom, Dani noticed. Whenever Soph left, Dani found a reason to follow. Sometimes they didn't even talk. They could sit beside each other, exchanging a glance or a small smile. Dani even started remembering tiny things Soph had mentioned once and never expected her to remember. "And yet you're still sitting beside me." Soph looked at her. "Maybe I like sitting beside you." Dani's grin softened. "Maybe I like you sitting beside me too." Neither of them said anything after that. Their friends noticed. Lara noticed first. Then Manon. Then Megan. They had developed a habit of watching Soph and Dani whenever they were together.
