Not seeing alot of others saying this for some reason but mentorship!!! Working with and for other artists has been the biggest way that quickly got me booked making consistent income doing makeup! Find bridal artists in your area and dm every single one asking for assisting jobs and tell them your free whenever they need an extra set of hands! Then youll get work without needed a huge portfolio necessaily and can grow your portfolio quickly!! Seriously i met the best people idk where id be without them! Just no matter what don’t sign to a team that puts you on a non compete

I am in the same boat as you. Im just focusing on building my online portfolio and getting my name out there. Ive reached out to a few mua's that ive been to to get my makeup done to worl with them or for advice and ive got blanked!! Its tough out here but I'm not giving up!!

Well I saved to rent a spot in a salon inside the mall and the customers came flowing in. Best marketing strategy ever. Didn’t get many clients at first but because it’s a mall, many people eventually got curious as they always saw me do makeup on clients by the window and the rest is history. Moral of the story, Marketing is key 🔑 especially if you want to have your locals know lock 🔐
