This is gen why I hate art contests of any kind in general like when I was back in highschool and we would get some art contests here and there me and my friend joined the same one and she would always ask "oh what are you thinking of creating for the contest" blah blah and my ass was NOT telling her anything cuz she had been copying me and my other friends constantly (ex. When I dyed my ends she went to do the same the next week WITH the same exact color, when I was doodling anatomy for my sketches in class she started doing the same the next day WHEN SHE LITERALLY HAD NEVER BOTHERED DRAWING USING ANATOMY) anyways you get the point. After a week or so she kept pressuring me with stuff like "I don't get why you are gatekeeping your ideas" or "nobody would copy it.. I'm just asking out of curiosity and you are attacking me!!" in the end I ACTUALLY felt bad and stuff so I told her "I'm gonna do smth with flowers floating on a lake kinda like lily pads etc" and when the deadline for the contest arrived guess what she had made? FCKING ORIGAMI LILY PADS ON A WATER SURFACE. so yea copying other people is NEVER okay cuz she was the one getting the award and my art piece was mocked cuz "Oh it looks JUST like yori friend's but if it was copied" MF SHE LITERALLY COPIED ME. 😭
