A Message of Appreciation to Former President Uhuru Kenyatta Former President Uhuru Kenyatta, thank you for your thoughtful and powerful message at the Ethiopian National Dialogue. Your words reminded us that peace is not simply the absence of conflict; it is the willingness to listen, understand one another, accept differences, and build a future together. Ethiopia is a country of many peoples, cultures, languages, histories, and perspectives. Our diversity should be a source of strength, not division. Your experience and wisdom as a former leader of Kenya gave an important regional perspective to Ethiopia’s journey toward peace and national reconciliation. The message of dialogue, forgiveness, mutual respect, and shared responsibility is deeply relevant to our country at this important moment. Ethiopia needs leaders and citizens who choose dialogue over confrontation, understanding over hatred, and cooperation over division. National dialogue should not only be a meeting—it should become a genuine process that creates trust, addresses grievances, protects the dignity of all Ethiopians, and builds institutions that serve everyone. Thank you, President Uhuru Kenyatta, for sharing your experience and encouraging Ethiopians to believe in the possibility of peace and unity. May Ethiopia choose dialogue, reconciliation, justice, and a peaceful future for all its peoples. 🇪🇹🤝🇰🇪

Buli Ababido :
Former President Uhuru Kenyatta’s message at the Ethiopian National Dialogue offered an important regional perspective on Ethiopia’s search for peace and reconciliation. His message rightly emphasized that peace is more than the absence of conflict. It requires dialogue, mutual understanding, respect for differences, and a willingness to address grievances through peaceful means. For a diverse country like Ethiopia, with its many peoples, cultures, languages, and histories, diversity should be transformed into a source of strength rather than division. Kenyatta’s experience as a former Kenyan leader makes his call for dialogue, reconciliation, and shared responsibility particularly meaningful. Ethiopia’s national dialogue should therefore go beyond discussion. It should help rebuild trust, address legitimate grievances, promote inclusion and justice, and strengthen institutions that serve all citizens. His message is a valuable reminder that sustainable peace requires responsibility from political leaders and citizens alike. Ethiopia’s future depends on choosing dialogue over confrontation, reconciliation over hatred, and cooperation over division. Thank you, President Uhuru Kenyatta, for sharing your experience and encouraging Ethiopians to believe in the possibility of a peaceful and inclusive future. 🇪🇹🤝🇰🇪

we need justice :
If you mean who founded/established Addis Ababa, the short answer is: Emperor Menelik II and Empress Taytu Betul are generally credited with establishing modern Addis Ababa as the permanent imperial capital in the late 19th century. Menelik II established his imperial seat there and developed the city as the political center of the Ethiopian Empire. Empress Taytu Betul played a major role in choosing the permanent location around the hot springs (Filwoha) and is strongly associated with the city's early development. The area was not uninhabited before Menelik and Taytu. Oromo communities lived in and around the region, and earlier settlements and political developments existed there. The city was initially known as Finfinne by the Oromo, while Addis Ababa means “New Flower” in Amharic. So, saying simply “Menelik created Addis Ababa from nothing” would be historically misleading. It is more accurate to say that Menelik II and Taytu established and developed Addis Ababa as the permanent imperial capital on a landscape that already had inhabitants and settlements.
