If Lisa mentioned that her favorite bag was getting old, Jennie would replace it. If Lisa complained that her apartment felt boring, Jennie would somehow have new decorations delivered the next day. If Lisa said she liked a certain flower, Jennie would make sure there were always some waiting for her at home. Come on. I made you something.” Lisa looked up. “You cooked?” “Of course.” Lisa smiled. “My girlfriend is perfect.” Jennie laughed. “I’m really not.” “You are to me.” Jennie paused. Then she smiled and kissed the top of Lisa’s head. “Come eat before I start spoiling you again.” Lisa happily followed her into the kitchen. Later that night, Lisa was lying comfortably on the couch, scrolling through her phone. Suddenly, she looked at Jennie. “Nini?” “Hm?” “Can I ask you something?” “Anything.” “Why do you always give me everything I want?” Jennie looked at her for a moment. Then she smiled. “Because seeing you happy makes me happy.” Lisa’s expression softened. “But you don’t have to buy me everything.” “I know.” “Then why?” Jennie moved closer and gently held her hand. “Because you’ve been beside me for so long. Through my stressful days, my failures, my successes… everything.” Lisa smiled. “So?” “So I want you to know that you’ll always have someone who takes care of you.” Lisa immediately hugged her. “You’re so cheesy.” “You love it.” “I do.” Jennie laughed.
