@pouljoyrescue: Willa will be euthanized Friday 8/21 Wow. Today I legitimately had an hour long panic attack over Willa. I've been experiencing those lately and they are NOT fun. If you get them too and have anything that helps bring you down from one, please let me know. Today I ate a popsicle and chewed gum, that actually helped a little. Anyway, another volunteer messaged me around 3 asking if I had seen anything on Willa and I was like...no??? I didn't even realize she was on today's euthanasia list. Thankfully, the shelter granted her an extension with the hope that we can try really hard to find her an outcome before her deadline tomorrow. I searched my email and realized this isn't Willa's first time at BARC. I found a plea for her from 2023, when she was only FOUR WEEKS OLD. Her and another tiny puppy came into the shelter dehydrated. Willa had eye discharge, was lethargic and needed a foster ASAP. And now, three years later, somehow she's back at the same shelter fighting for an outcome all over again. I even found two of her little puppy pictures. One from when she originally came in and then another from 2024 when she was brought back again I hate seeing dogs come back years later failed and in danger again. We had Willa out with another dog and she was VERY dog friendly. She's sooo freaking beautiful and such a good girl. She does have a URI right now so she really just needs some time in a safe space, on her meds, to get over her doggy cold. Willa has already needed saving once. I really hope we can show up for her again. I just know there's a family out there who would love her. We just have to find them in time! Questions?
