She’s smart. You can’t cut off from all family members and live in isolation, especially in cultures where family ties are a huge part of life. She’s forgiving and realises there’s a bigger picture than just her feelings being hurt. I can guarantee she’s doing this for her kids and so there is no “shame” on her for cutting everyone off. As much as it sucks this is the culture she was born into
