@amjaddurranioffical: Chinese scientists develop cutting-edge tech for 3D ceramic printing in the air to create complex engineering parts Jiangnan University team creates new printing paste and improved curing technique to boost printing efficiency and remove need for support structures Ceramics are widely used in mechanical engineering, electronics and aerospace fields but their brittleness and hardness make manufacturing a challenge #3dprinting #intelligence #inventions #creatorsearchinsights #DidYouKnow
looked it up: NIR 3D printing uses near-infrared light to cure specially formulated resin at targeted points within the material, allowing complex 3D objects to be formed without conventional layer-by-layer printing or structural supports.

Idk why we don’t just 3d print in a really thick liquid

This has been a thing since 2023, this is not new technology, nor is it free standing in air. This is Near Infrared 3d Printing. It uses a near Infrared light to quickly cure localized spot of the resin in which the object is suspended in. The major drawback here are materials that can be used to print out of are extremely limited as there are only so many combinations of resin that can still cure correctly and/or remain durable.

Blue NIR? That's incredible given their location on the color spectrum. What a breakthrough

Looks like it's extremely slow and the excessively fast cure will lead to extremely poor layer to layer adhesion
