@shedeservescare: All woman shouldn’t no but there should be a system in place for those who struggle (not just with medical conditions but simply have heavy flows with bad cramps) and workplaces should be adapted to be more comfortable for woman #fyp #foryoupage❤️❤️ #woman #victim #survior
It should be a choice then. And it should be paid for those who need it

I have Cyclical Vomiting Syndrome, triggered by extreme emotions and every month when I'm premenstrual I usually end up in hospital because of the vomiting...I just get a letter or ring in sick if that happens and I explain it and it's usually fine. I've never has an issue because most people are understanding anyway, one job changed my shifts before so I wouldn't miss out which was kind.

Optional then, not EVERY women need it but some do? Exp me…I suffer really badly from endo and work a “blue collar” job being the only woman and ended up crying in pain? Not ideal thankfully my bosses do understand it and give me “free days” that don’t come out of my sick days, not every woman gets this, it definitely should be an optional choice that men do not “she’s off for her period again weak”

I definitely wouldn’t need it but even if we did get that policy it would just give them more ‘reason’ to not hire us

What a bizarre take. "Should we install ramps to gain access to this building?" "No. For the simple reason that not every person needs it." ??? People with extreme menstrual issues should be able to manage their medical conditions without losing their job. It not applying to you doesn't mean no one should have access. I have epilepsy, should we not replace the flickering light above my head because it doesnt pose of risk of seizure to everyone in the office?

Totally agree, also not to mention women would be belittled and mocked by certain types of men for needing days off. It would be used against us in a very condescending way

i think women deal with periods very differently, you have YOUR experience, and i have mine. If i would like time off work due to my bleeding, pains and mood, i will take that time off

Also, like, it’s a privacy issue. Not every woman wants their employer to know when they’re on their period.

it would give employers a reason to not want to hire women

you're right but for the wrong reason, the fact is that, having a day off is absolutely valid, I work 6 days a week as a manager. I can get 2 days off every month, or I can save them up for a trip. but that's not cuz of having a period. getting 3 consecutive days off would hurt a company. that's why they prefer to hire women.

I think doctors can prescribe it but you have to go through something and then send it to your office school etc to have it as authorised

in secondary school i’d be in so much pain and bled thru tampons and pads every 30-60 minutes! it lasted around 8-11 days for me and i absolutely hate raspberries but i used to eat them by the handful bc they did actually help a little. now that i’m on birth control? i barely even get them and i free bleed too bc there’s barely any blood, it very rarely even gets on my underwear! i agree with you, as-long as the women suffering do get what they need

personally I would only want it off for the first 2 days as that's the most i bleed and once I went to work and it was the first day of my period and as I was trying to set a table I literally physically could not put a glass down on the table as my hand was shaking so much and I couldn't fold napkins or anything and sometimes I end up squatting in the middle of the dining room to stop the pain like once it was so bad I was in the toilets at work for an hour shaking and crying but then the 3rd day is usually fine for me

Just to clarify. This is like saying women who are fertile should also get child benefits

I do think it truly has to do with how intensive your job is, but you'll have to get a doctor's note from you gynocologist
