A plane flying at 350 mph isn't affected by Earth's 1,000 mph spin because the plane, the air, and the ground all spin together at the same speed. If you factor in the speed of the planet, then we can say the plane is going west at 2x while to the east it goes at 0. So technically, when flying east at the same speed as our planet, the east comes to us. Since the planet's velocity is constant and predictable, we decide to ignore it and deal with our own unpredictable parameters.

OMG! I knew the answer to this when I was 12. The plane is flying within earth’s atmosphere. Anything within earth’s atmosphere is rotating with earth. Moreover, adjusting for earth’s curvature is also elementary. Nose down would bring the plane down to the center of earth.
