@sanamiee: The hardest part about being a social worker isn’t always what people think. 🤍 It’s the guilt when you’re off sick, the workload waiting when you return, building trust over time, and learning not to take everything home with you. We care deeply about the families we work with, but our role isn’t to change someone’s life for them. It’s to support, empower and give them the tools to create change for themselves. A colleague said something to me this week that really stuck with me: “Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Give him a rod and he can feed himself for a lifetime.” And I think that sums up social work perfectly. 🤍 We care, we advocate, we challenge, we support and despite the difficult parts, I’m incredibly proud to be a social worker.
