Today, I want to answer this directly: Washing your hair on Sunday is not a sin. Both your body and your soul need care and cleansing. Taking care of yourself, washing, and keeping your home clean— these things do not go against God. God is not looking at whether you washed your hair today. He is looking at your heart. Do you know where these kinds of restrictions come from? They do not come from the Bible. They come from human traditions and cultural superstitions. Jesus also rebuked the Pharisees for such things— because they placed human traditions above a genuine relationship with God. He said: “This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.” — Matthew 15:8-9 In vain. Empty. Worthless. This was the Lord’s response to worship that holds onto human rules while the heart remains far from God. A person may enter a church on Sunday, light candles, and touch religious images— yet never truly open their heart to God. Another person may wash their hair, clean their home, and provide for their family— yet spend the entire day living with gratitude toward God. Which one is pleasing to God? A holy day is not a list of restrictions. It is a time for people to experience freedom and rest in the presence of God. Lord, set free those who are carrying the burdens of human superstition and traditions. May they understand true worship— not found in outward rules, but in a heart that is open before You.
