This happened to me at my second one week visit.. my baby was one GRAM below gaining an ounce… the nurses made me feel horrible.. she asked me if I could stop breast feeding and only pump so they could see how much I’m making..I said no.. they said he was burning too many calories.. they had me triple feed.. I’m now weening from triple feeding and we’re only on day 13 of him breast feeding.. he’s getting better at feeding.. he gained weight.. we had a rough start and he is a big baby.. 9lbs 4 oz.. triple feeding made me feel so stressed and it’s getting better because I’m trying to just put baby at breast.. makes me feel like they didn’t care about me and only numbers :(

Also if you were on IV fluids during birth, it artificially bloats the birth weight and can make it seem like baby needs to gain more than they technically need!

My night nurse bullies me and made me feel threatened that she was going to call fsd if my baby didn’t latch 15 minutes on each side at less than 24 hours old. She pressured me to use formula regardless of my breast feeding plan.

I triple fed for so long. Was told to continue triple feeding. I finally just went with my gut. I focused on feeding him whenever he wanted whether it was every hour or every 2 hours. Didn’t get discouraged when he would cluster feed. Watched wet and poopy diapers and slowly quit giving bottles. We have both been much happier since ❤️

My new baby was an ounce shy of her birth weight and I was DEVASTATED thinking the pediatrician was going to say I needed to pump/bottle feed. (I exclusively pumped for my first because we were unable to establish a latch & later found out he has a lip tie) Our pediatrician is AMAZING & said I was doing everything right! He even recognized that babies fluctuate a few ounces depending on when she last ate/pooped. I felt so validated!!!

The way postpartum health is in the limelight rightnow, how is it possible that comments like these are made to a mom that is not only sustaining her sweet baby but also recovering in a mess that our hormones are going through. I'm so happy she was able to speak to you!

The LC at my pediatrician’s office immediately wanted me to start triple feeding at my daughter’s 2 month appointment because she was 2 ounces shy of what she “should have gained.” This is my 4th baby, but first ebf baby. Thanks to YOUR videos I had the confidence to keep doing what I was doing and by her 4 month appointment her weight was perfect! ❤️

My ped had me bring my baby in weekly to do weigh ins to make sure he was gaining weight adequately. She never once said triple feed or anything crazy.

The pediatric doctors on the birthing unit made me feel like a huge failure the day leaving the hospital after giving birth. Because my baby had lost some weight three days postpartum. I believe he had lost 5-6 oz. My milk hadn’t come in yet and that I was made to feel like I was a bad mom. I cried so much in the hospital. I couldn’t even look at my husband. I felt like a failure. I just held my baby telling him how sorry I was. It was all my fault. I purchased donor milk until my milk came in and couldn’t stop crying about it. I am proudly over 8 months EBF my baby boy and I love it. It is one of the hardest but most rewarding things I have ever done.

can we see a video on milk allergies in babies for breastfed moms? she's done this 6 times. She's a pro. I honestly think the world just hates breastfeeding moms. The push for formula is crazy. They want us to hide so bad.

I’m a second time mom and at my baby’s two week appointment, she was 1 ounce shy of her birth weight. Her pediatrician who is also an IBCLC said “ great job! Keep doing what you’re doing”

This was me but 3oz. Baby is having a hunch of poops and wet diapers. He’s on boob every 1.5 hours to 2 hours a day. And dr said the same.

I had been home from the hospital less than 24hrs. FTMy baby had her first check up. She lost weight which is normal and I got chewed out by the doctor. That alone could have sent me over the edge. I bawled….

Currently triple feeding my 34 weaker he is now nine weeks old. He was born at 4 lbs. 3 oz. and he’s up to 6 lbs. 12 oz. as of last Friday. They keep telling me that he’s not gaining like they want to see but he’s a preemie its very disheartening to have to triple feed like this and work so hard

As a future lactation consultant …. I’m MAD. YOU ARE KIDDING?! 😵‍💫 And for it to be the 6th baby is insane that a doctor would be so dramatic over a single ounce of weight.

My 4month old is drinking 5.5 oz breastmilk bottles every 2-3 hours. I pump at work every 2-3 hours for about 20-30 minutes. During 8am-2pm, I can only pump about 10-12oz. I can’t figure out why I don’t pump enough for at least the 3 bottles she needs for the next day. I’ve tried so many different techniques.
