for those who don’t know, my dad passed away 3 years ago. he had battled with his demons through out my life and sadly lost that fight in November 2023. i wrote this song on my first Christmas without him. something about the nostalgia of that time mixed with how absolutely helpless i felt in that time had me feeling like a kid waiting for his dad to come home. it’s on my album that’s out in 2 weeks. would mean a lot if you checked it out once it lands :)

I really appreciate this, I lost my dad in April of 2020, I never had a great way to grieve that. especially with all the covid regulations, and the world just feeling so torn apart. I'm learning how to grieve it, and in a way to live again, how to save myself again. Bring myself away some deep self destruction, start to truly rebuild into someone I hope he would be proud of. i am sure your dad would be so proud of you, your success, your failures, your bringing yourself back up to where you are now in spite of the loss of him. Keep it up Sam, we're all rooting for you too.
