@chinaminutes: Humanoid robots are back on the track 🤖 The second World Humanoid Robot Games have kicked off at Beijing’s National Speed Skating Oval, bringing together 666 teams and 2,056 robots from 16 countries across six continents. The number of participating teams is up 138% from the inaugural Games, while the number of robots has quadrupled. China alone has 641 teams, including participants from 157 companies and 200 universities and research institutions. Running from August 22 to 26, the Games will feature 51 events, from running, football and combat to new additions including long jump, weightlifting, tug-of-war and table tennis. The rules are tougher too, with shorter time limits and most competitive events now requiring robots to operate fully autonomously.
