You used solid pipe. For a true French drain it should be solid pipe coming away from the house into a perforated pipe into a dry well filled with paper and stone.

I love French drains because they help restore the ground water instead of running off. Wish every house was built with a French drain system. This one was done so right because they used pvc and didn’t cheap out on clogable corrugated trash
