@brandoncastrony: Major flooding AGAIN here in NYC‼️ This is Woodside, Queens, and at least the fifth time in just three months we’ve seen flooding like this. Families who have lived here for decades say the same thing: it was never this bad, this often. This goes beyond any one administration, this problem has been building for many years as our neighborhoods grow while aging infrastructure struggles to keep up. We need better drainage, modernized sewer systems, greater stormwater capacity, and smarter development that our communities can actually handle. No one should have to brace for flooding like this every time heavy rain hits. Build Smart. Build Safe. 📍 This is from 48th - 51st Avenue, and 65th - 69th street in Woodside, Queens #woodside #maspeth #flooding #storm #queensnyc

Way too much overdevelopment all over Queens with zero upgrades on storm drains and sewer lines. NYC is now sub tropical, they need to make upgrades fast because it’s only going to get worse.

These aren’t typical rain storms. These last few are just a lot of water really fast making it complicated for the systems

yes, politicians forget about the people once in office. Those sewers are clogged as Curtis Sewa illustrated on his video.

yep. seems like it floods every time it rains. the system is so outdated. where do our tax $, congestion fees, traffic camera and other penalties they collected go? corruption is real. they also send alerts prior to the rain and advise ppl to go above ground but to where if my apt is in the basement? wtf

Three times now in just over a month. I’m not a conspiracy theorist ever but this is almost feeling like someone flipped a switch somewhere and the drains are just not draining. People shouldn’t have to go to bed nervous when there is rain expected overnight.

past administrations focused on creating bike lanes, bike stations and bus lanes and totally neglected the city draining systems...WE CAN'T KEEP BLAMING THE CITY RESIDENTS ABOUT TRASH IN THE STREETS..WHY BECAUSE THERE ARE NO TRASH CANS THROUGHOUT THE CITY ON EVERY CITY BLOCK...SANITATION MADE IT CLEAR YEARS AGO THAT THEY DON'T WANT TO HAVE THOSE TRASH CANS ON EVERY BLOCK ANYMORE...POOR PLANNING IS THE REASON FOR OUR NEIGHBORS FLOODING LIKE THIS...THE CHANGE IN OUR WEATHER SYSTEMS WERE CLEARLY EVIDENT YEARS AGO AND CITY OFFICIALS IGNORED IT...HOMEOWNERS AND LANDLORDS AND RENTERS SHOULD TAKE OUT A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AGAINST THE CITY FOR NEGLECTING THE CITY'S SEWERS AND DRAINS..
