@sadchocopie: Minjeong loved Jimin. She really did. And she never wanted anything to come between them. But somehow, something did. Herself. Her sadness. Her brokenness. The parts of her she couldn't seem to put back together, no matter how hard she tried. She wanted to heal. She wanted to be happy. She wanted to be happy with Jimin. But somewhere deep inside, Minjeong had convinced herself she didn't deserve any of it. No matter how many times Jimin reassured her, that heavy ache in her chest never disappeared. And as Jimin slowly grew tired, that feeling only became worse. It wasn't Jimin's fault. Minjeong knew that. She was tired of herself, too. Tired of fighting thoughts that never seemed to quiet down. Tired of pretending she was okay when she knew she wasn't. Tired of waking up every morning only to feel like she was losing another battle with herself. She didn't understand herself anymore. But she thought she understood one thing. Maybe the thoughts would finally disappear if she did, too. Maybe everyone would be better off without her. The thoughts grew louder every day, until one night, Minjeong found herself sitting alone on the cold bathroom floor, a bottle of pills trembling between her fingers. She stared at it for what felt like forever. Then, one by one, she swallowed them. At first, nothing happened. Then her head began to spin. Her vision blurred, and she couldn't tell whether the room was moving or whether she was simply too exhausted from crying to stay awake. But she didn't care anymore. She didn't want to wake up. She didn't remember much after that. Only the unbearable pain. Her body convulsed as she lay helplessly against the cold floor, covered in her own stomach acid and foam, tears slipping from the corners of her eyes as her body fought desperately against what she'd done. For a moment, everything was silent. Then, with what little strength she had left, Minjeong reached for her phone. The screen illuminated the darkness. One message. “Let's break up.” She stared at the words. Her heart ached. And strangely enough, that pain felt comforting. Maybe this was a sign. Maybe she had spent too long trying to become happy for someone else. Maybe she didn't need to heal for Jimin. Maybe she didn't need to become better just to be a better girlfriend, daughter, sister, or friend. Maybe she could heal for herself. No one was there beside her that night. And somehow, that wasn't as frightening as she thought it would be. She would still feel lonely sometimes. There would still be bad days, and mornings where getting out of bed felt impossible. But she was still here. And that had to mean something. She wasn't simply someone's daughter. Someone's sister. Someone's girlfriend. Someone's friend. She was Minjeong. A person. A life. Someone who deserved to exist, even when she couldn't see her own worth. So she chose to stay. Not for Jimin. Not for her family. Not because the sadness suddenly disappeared. She stayed for herself. And slowly, painfully, she began to heal. — Around 130,000 deaths worldwide are caused by drug overdoses each year. Your life matters. Your life is worth living. You are not worthless, even when your mind tells you that you are. You are more than someone's child, sibling, partner, or friend. You are your own person, with your own life and a future you haven't seen yet. Please talk to someone if you're struggling. And if talking to someone else feels impossible, start with yourself. Tell yourself that you're hurting. You don't have to solve everything today. Sometimes, simply waking up is enough. You are enough. And please, check on the people you love. You never truly know what someone is carrying behind their smile. Sometimes, all it takes is a simple, “How are you?” to make someone feel heard. Wanted. Loved. And sometimes, that small question can remind someone that they're still here for a reason. #jiminjeong #winrina #karina #winter #aespa
