At some point you have to stop editing your manuscript. Edit it, clean it up, do the work, but at some point, LET GO. I've seen entirely too many who never stop going back to fix something that there wasn't anything wrong with. Have faith in yourself and your story.

Revise before you edit!!! Read through your entire story and don't change a SINGLE thing. Take notes but don't make any changes. Once you go through your notes then edit. So many authors (myself included) fall into the editing pit, where we just nit pick each line or word choice while failing to fix the big picture issues. Revising is so helpful for this, and I don't think it's talked about enough.

my favorite way to start the editing process is to format it, print it in book form and have someone else go through it with a red pen and sticky notes. Who knows, it might help someone else!
