He did not answer the question yet most comments compliment him for his response. Either the readers are not interested or any answer would done. The question was, “What is a black hole?” Most of the response explains escape velocity, what happens near one, and what might happen if you fall into one. 🔭 A simpler answer would start with the definition: A black hole is a region of space where gravity is so strong that once something crosses its boundary, called the event horizon, nothing, not even light, can escape. 🔭 Then he could have explained escape velocity, tidal forces, and everything else. Those are effects of a black hole, not the basic answer to what a black hole actually is.
