Even in 1440p Medium or Even high Settings 8gb Vram can be enough. Remember VRAM IS NOT EVERYTHING! My 3070 Ti can play every game in 1440p.

it's controversial due to people consuming too much TikTok and ChatGPT instead of researching and learning. most people play on 1080p or just buy an OLED to run wallpaper engine and post on TikTok. literally a 5050 has near the performance of a 3060 if not more (not sure) so it's more than enough.

I have a 4060ti 8GB and I'm playing Armored Core VI at 4k +60fps max settings. also Helldivers 4k at 60fps with DLSS at max quality. In QHD I can play everything at 90-120fps with high settings.

8gigs of vram isnt a bottleneck because the graphics cards that have 8gbs are made for 1080p and lightweight 1440p, if you had more vram on those cards you will not get more fps, look at the normal 3060, clearly the 3060ti wins in 4k despite having 8gb ram, the 5060ti is another example, the 16gig ram version has a ~5% fps boosts

if 1080p yes and mid or high settings? yes but not 1440p or 4k plus ray tracing but for me even a RX 580 8 GBs is enough I don't play 4k I just play 1080p and high settings so yeah for me and most people yes 8 gb is enough
