@chukwuemeka.mbanug: Just sharing what I do after sex to help prevent infection. It’s a small routine but makes me feel more comfortable. Everyone’s different, but I thought I’d share my experience 😊. If you mean after sex to reduce the risk of infections, these are good habits: 1. Urinate after sex — especially if you’re prone to UTIs. 2. Gently wash the outside genital area with water or mild, unscented soap. Don’t douche or wash inside the vagina. 3. Change out of sweaty or wet underwear/clothes and keep the area dry. 4. Use condoms to reduce the risk of STIs. 5. Get tested if you have unprotected sex or have a new partner. 6. Watch for symptoms such as unusual discharge, sores, itching, burning when urinating, pelvic pain, or unusual odor. If they appear, see a healthcare professional. Important: Urinating or washing after sex can help with hygiene and may reduce some UTI risk, but they do not prevent STIs.
