My experience w men is that they interview like perfect dream candidates & then when they get the “job” they immediately start slacking off bit by bit, and getting complacent thinking they don’t have to do any work anymore; and eventually getting to the point where they’re just thoroughly sh*tty and you’re like why the hell did I even hire this person in the first place?!

I just thought it was something you had to get through. For me the person I got into a relationship was the person I left, he barely matured in 15 years. In my case it was also a case of the really bad things happening years apart, so the regular demeanor didn't seem too bad and we had a good share of great times as well. It wasn't all bad. Meanwhile even therapists were giving me advice like "well you just need to let him think it was his idea to do the good things, you just need to uplift his ego by making yourself small"

Yup, you get comments like “why don’t you just leave him” and then you do and have withstanding symptoms of abuse and people go “well you shouldn’t have dated him in the first place.” I rarely get asked why HE would do x,y,z. Women can’t win and men can’t lose, it’s sad.
