My knuckle hurts 😭😭 but seriously, when I was in med school there was talk of a doctor who came from Europe, I think Italy and was dissecting fascia like crazy in the cadaver lab. Not sure if it was Luigi. Also in residency there was talk of a doc who thought every pain was myofacial related and thus would only do trigger point if injections were needed. I see patients get better with addressing only myofascial issues. Ok back to digging.

I had PF for a bit. In my experience, its 1. damage to the fascia, 2. because the primary load bearing fascis is injured, all other tissue of the foot complex become super tight to compensate, 3. the PF heals, but in a shortened length, 4. Together, this chokes off the blood supply the PF needs to really heal 5. There is even some necrosis in the injured area. PF can go from mild to debilitating in a single exercise session, so pay attention and don't push it. It took me 1.5 years of PT to heal from PF. This stuff is no ordinary sports injury.

Thanks for the video Collin.could this release old scar tissue and fascia from an old injury where I came down from head stand into chaturanga and really jammed my right big toe hard so that I’ve never had full range of motion since that injury. I do have some extra bone growth on the top of my big toe metatarsal head. Can you also use a gua sha tool if you have one?

You have to work all of the points 🙄 they’re points of tension and the whole body is compensating together. It’s a constant relaxing and change of composition in tendons, muscles etc
