Physicians reportedly suspect erythromelalgia, a rare condition associated with episodes of burning pain, redness and unusually warm skin. The disorder commonly affects the feet and may be treated with topical medications or oral drugs depending on the patient. Local reports say billionaire Anant Ambani covered the cost of transporting Iqbal to Mumbai for treatment. Videos shared before his hospitalization showed the teenager sitting in a pond for relief, while another captured him in severe distress at home surrounded by relatives. His parents had previously sought medical treatment for their son but reportedly could not continue because of financial hardship. At one point, Iqbal reportedly believed a supernatural force was responsible for his suffering. Doctors have also warned that remaining in water for prolonged periods carries serious risks of its own. Constant exposure can damage and soften the skin, potentially making him more vulnerable to bacterial and fungal infections.
