A lot of people won’t understand that some of these independent garages have next level skilled mechanics that can fix a problem or issue that your main dealer simply can’t so yes it’s fair

That’s scummy bro. Your hourly rate should be fixed regardless of the job. You can set it to to higher than the dealer if you want, but then nobody will come to you. What you shouldn’t do is charge more just because the customer has no other option

Just because a dealership turns down a job doesn’t mean it’s right to charge more than dealership prices. Dealership prices are a joke 250+ per hour is never justifiable regardless of what the car needs done. It’s a car not a a380.
