That’s a northern pufferfish but don’t worry that specific one is not poisonous

Mattie_Nat :

Northern Puffer! An interesting thing about them is that unlike many other puffers, they aren’t poisonous at all, they are allegedly delicious but they aren’t native to where I live, nor are they commercially fished for so I can’t confirm if they are tasty or not.

WiseGuy_NY :

The amount of marine biologists on this app is insane. I caught this puffer inside my crab trap. There are millions of puffer fish in Long Island, NY. Just for everyone’s own knowledge I could’ve kept this fish and consumed it if I wanted to. There is no NYS regulations including size, bag limit on this fish which is commonly called the “chicken of the sea” I threw it back because it was tiny. Seriously you keyboard warriors are ridiculous. It’s a fish. And thank you for the views keep them up glad to know our puffer fish video is a hit!
