I traveled extensively with person that was an incomplete quad in the mid 90's. It saddens me that the same concerns still exist 30 yrs later. Many times they would mess up the wheelchair. Once they put him 26 rows back and gave me a serving cart to assist to transfer him ontop of to get me to get him to the 26th row. They easily could have accommodated him to the front. Oddly enough, Vegas Airport was top notch. Their staff assisted with all of his transfers. I actively changed his position throughout flights to prevent pressure sores.
