No shorter hospital stay, no meaningful drop in opioid use, and higher chronic pain scores at 4 weeks and 4 months. Talk to your surgical team about what’s actually in your pain plan and why. CAVEAT: Gabapentin has good evidence for the following (1) postherpetic neuralgia, (2) adjunctive therapy for partial-onset seizures, and (3) painful diabetic neuropathy.
