@byjacklynn: I took a very short trip to York and it has quickly shot its way up to my top 5 cities/towns in the UK. There is quite literally history around every corner! #History #york #britishhistory
I misread this as New York and I was so confused for a second.

Sometimes I think about how cleopatra, william shakespeare, and everyone who lived on this planet looked in awe at the same moon.

Oh, how I love this account and the way your frame things! New Orleans is another place where the time is not linear, and the past mingles seamlessly with the present. Come visit!

the image of hell with the cauldron looks like giants holding up a very large boat (especially if they're giants) like an ark

Being from York myself I can tell you that seeing the shambles feels like I’m going to have to shout excuse me to 5000 tourist while I try to take the shortcuts I took as a child🙈

I love that these things remind us that the past is real! When I went to Versailles eons ago they had a lock of Marie-Antoinette's hair on display and it kinda broke my brain; ofc I *know* she existed but historical figures can sometimes feel abstract until you’re hit in the face with tangible evidence.

Omg this is beautiful! I just got back from London and seeing what’s left of this wall built by the Romans for the city of Londinium, was mind blowing!

I loved visiting York. Insane that you can still see the hooks where meat was hung to be sold in The Shambles.

The type in the book looks printed?? Europe didn’t have printing until about 1440 CE, if this is someone’s handwriting then WOW that’s the nicest hand writing I’ve ever seen 😍 do you know the exact date for the book?
