Ok I hear you on this BUT what do I do when my kid isn’t hungry until I give her the bedtime warning or not until it is actual time for bed after all the warnings and then she is all of a sudden starving???

I was always forced to eat it all even when full and I had to do it very quickly or else my parents would be mad, so now I eat everything like I'm in an emergency and my friends wld only be like halfway through their food or sum, I need to try and get out of the habit

When my son was younger there were times he ate plain bread for lunch. Now he likes sushi and olives and all kinds of things. I think you just have to ride it out.

my favorite thing is fighting the urge to treat my child how I was treated for simply being a child. the least favorite is seeing how easy it is to let them be a kid without threats of violence or consequences.

I know I succeeded as a parent when my child just wants to keep sitting at the dinner table because we're still there. he doesn't always eat much and isn't always paying attention but just loves to be there with us

Is not letting the kids have any pudding if they don’t eat all their dinner classed as a punishment? Or is having pudding a reward for eating everything? I feel bad saying no pudding but I have been strict with it recently

Except mine are neurospicy and don’t know their hunger boundaries. They take a bite, cartwheel out of the room, and then come bedtime they’re starving. That isn’t that bad because we can just have an earlier bedtime to compensate. The problem is then when they don’t do that they wake up in the middle of the night starving and wanting dinner.

I don’t make my toddler sit still when she needs to eat. She can come back to it when she’s hungry however she doesn’t get a chocolate until over 1/2 of the food is finished
