My father, who is very much alive, has purchased his plot and headstone, and has invited our entire family to come and see it on his 79th birthday this weekend. He's very proud of it and is hoping to get a family photo of us with it. I hope in 200 years, someone will care as much as he does. He will be the 5th generation of his family buried there and that goes back just shy of 175 years.

in a pre civil war cemetery i was exploring in NH, i came across stones dating back to the 1780s. this particular stone hit me really hard even i read the words "forget us not" Polly and Jacob just wanted to be remembered, like all of us.

the few family members of mine that have been buried all went for marble style stones. it's so good because I can clean them super quickly and easily with mostly judt a cloth and water as its smooth almost slippery stone!

For the “right now, I want it clean” people out there, she said D/2 doesn’t give you same-day results. D/2 keeps working for months, even years, after you have scrubbed the stone. Great job Ally 👏👏👏

Whenever I visit my grandpa Streby’s grave someone always shows up to ask me what I’m doing there! I feel very defensive because all I’m doing is putting flowers on his grave and plus my grandma Streby who passed before I was born. Also my 2 uncles who passed as infants
