The screw shouldn’t be sticking out like that. It should be flush with the cabinet.

I don't think i've ever heard of a handle being called a durple. 🤔 Hammer the back part in and use the shorter screw. Make sure the screw is facing the same way as they're visible on the outside.

hammer the backs in and use the smaller screw, it doesn't matter if they get all the way though.

Try a rubber mallet so you don't damage the doors. They are like 8 bucks on Amazon.

Tap the silver part into the cabinet first. Then screw from the front

use the middle sized screw you need to put the silver metal piece into the back fully then screw the screw in the silver piece is a piece that the screw holds into
