@realkevinjjohnston: Q&A — WHY IS PANAMA BETTER FOR BUSINESS AND MAKING MONEY THAN CANADA? 💰 Why do I believe Panama is a better place to do business, invest, build companies and make money than Canada? In this excerpt from The Tax and Money Show, I explain what I have seen firsthand: Panama has a culture that understands business. People buy, sell, negotiate, invest, build, import, export and look for opportunities. In my experience, there is a fundamentally different attitude toward entrepreneurship here than what I see in Canada. Canadians are increasingly taught to depend on government. Panamanians are taught to hustle. 🇵🇦 Panamanians are also fiercely proud of Panama. You see the Panamanian flag everywhere. There is a strong sense that this is their country and that its success matters. Panama is also a predominantly Christian country, and its national identity is not built around Canada's official policy of multiculturalism. Whatever your personal beliefs, that creates a very different social and cultural environment from modern Canada. 🏦 Then there is the banking system. Panama has spent decades establishing itself as an international financial centre, and the IMF describes its banking system as sound, well-capitalized and liquid. Panama also uses the U.S. dollar, removing the currency-conversion problem that businesses operating internationally can face in many smaller economies. For entrepreneurs dealing internationally, Panama's combination of banking, logistics and dollarization is a serious advantage. 🚢 And sitting right in the middle of everything is the Panama Canal. This isn't some historical monument — it is an enormous, functioning economic machine connecting global markets. In the first eight months of fiscal 2026 alone, the Canal recorded 8,593 vessel transits, while its expanded locks now generate more than half of total Canal revenue. Panama sits directly on one of the most important trade routes on Earth. 💸 My conclusion is simple: I would rather build wealth in a country that wants business than fight every day in a country that increasingly seems suspicious of it. 🇵🇦 Panama wants to make money.
