STONEBWOY: CHAPTERS OF GREATNESS 🇬🇭🏆🌍 Stonebwoy’s music journey began to take shape in 2004 when he entered Senior High School after deferring his secondary school education for a year. During this period, he actively participated in school battles and began recording music demos. In 2005, @stonebwoy started appearing on Adom FM’s radio show “Kasahari”, hosted by Dr. Duncan. The programme, which aired every Saturday, provided a platform for rising talents and underground musicians seeking to break into the mainstream. Artistes battled it out, with listeners calling in to vote for who they believed delivered the best performance of the day. Stonebwoy would go on to become one of the few reggae/dancehall artistes to consistently battle rappers on the programme without losing a single battle, gradually rising through the ranks to become a fan favourite among listeners. It was also during his first year in senior high school that his path crossed with Batman, now known as @samini_dagaati, who was already a nationally recognised music star. In 2006, he began spending time at Quick Action’s studio after the producer invited him over following his appearance on Adom FM’s Kasahari. That same year, while in his second year of Senior High School, he released his first radio hit, “Makuma (My Heart),” and subsequently featured on Quick Action Compilation Vol. 1 He was also featured on @KwawKese’s “Thanks and Praise” that year. By his third year in Senior High School, Stonebwoy had built a strong underground following and released another radio hit, “Empress”. He also had the opportunity to work with artistes such as Adolf Tagoe and Afro Moses. He was featured again on Quick Action Compilation Vol. 2, alongside Buk Bak, Samini , Trigga, Okomfour, 4x4 and a host of other talents. According to broadcaster @AbeikuSantana, Stonebwoy recorded his first gospel song in 2007. He also revealed that he produced the video for that gospel recording. The song, however, was never officially released. Stonebwoy would go on to formally work with Quick Action’s S24 Studios in 2008, helping record artistes. It was during this period that his path crossed with Samini once again, eventually leading to their decision to work together. From 2009 to 2011, he would continue building his catalogue and working with some of the biggest artistes of the era, including @iamobrafour on “Ghetto Love” and Kwaw Kese once again on “No More”, while releasing singles and mixtapes that ultimately paved the way for his debut album, “Grade 1”, in 2012. Stonebwoy reflected on his early years in music in an interview with @djsliming, noting that the focus at the time was not on accolades, saying, “in my early years that you are asking about, there was no awards mentality”. What followed was the forging of an iconic career — a journey that would see Stonebwoy emerge as a forerunner and torchbearer, relentlessly pushing boundaries, breaking new ground and carrying the flag of the Motherland, Ghana, to the world. I will take you on a journey through Stonebwoy’s Legacy, through the lens of awards, beginning in 2013 — one year at a time. ffm.to/stonebwoy-wake… #TheTORCHER
