@realdocspeaks: AI could take some of the more repetitive work off doctors' plates, especially in areas where pattern recognition is a big part of the job. But that doesn't mean every type of doctor is equally replaceable. This video is for educational purposes only and is NOT medical advice. #Healthcare #AI #Doctors
If AI can replace radiologist or pathologist, we're cooked as a society

AI isn’t replacing doctors any time soon because the AI companies don’t want to be liable for malpractice. They still need a doctor to take that fall

doctors who talk bad about radiologists and pathologists don't actually know how important those guys really are in a hospital, just because AI is good at pattern recognition, that can fall short because of how unique each case to case can be. They don't just look at images or look through a microscope, also a rads and paths signature is HEAVY.

Surprisingly, I think primary care will be very safe. People want human to human interactions for health maintenance/explanation of imagining/lab work results etc. anything that can be automated, given the algorithm of AIs ability to learn, patients once sedated/assuming efficacy/safety is up to par, would likely care less if a robot can remove your appendix in my opinion or any other procedure. For example colonoscopy’s/upper endoscopes/ proceduralist are in jeopardy in addition to surgery

Rad here. No one really knows when AI will impact our field to the point of replacement but I do have a few concerns that need addressing now. First, where is the ABR and ACR in this matter. I’ve had a great career in this field, but it’s totally ridiculous to allow high level medical students with massive debt to go into Radiology if it’s truly being replaced soon. They need to speak up and protect or start a giving guidance. Second, how will AI be giving autonomy. Will they require medical licensure like myself paying ten of thousands of dollars over a career per computer? Malpractice insurance?? Continued medical education? Pass boards including oral boards?? Who will oversee quality including tech oversight? So many unknowns and no word from the governing boards. Shameless.

As of now AI sucks in pickup up subtle intracranial hemorrhage and makes false positives all the time. And it costs 400k per year for software. No thanks. At least for now

does somebody want to tell him that the robots already do the surgery? the specialty is essentially forced all of these surgeons to use robots for procedures that don't even really require it
