The neighborhood where my parents live- a bunch of moms do a brunch on the first day of school and get wasted. It’s a “my kid is out of the house” celebration and I find it disgusting

Good rule of thumb is that if there isn’t an organized means of someone selling alcohol at an event then you probably shouldn’t be consuming alcohol at the event.

Y’all are seriously nitpicking 😭 She sat through a THREE HOUR football practice to support her kid, had one glass of wine while reading her book, and Dad was the one driving. There’s a huge difference between sipping a glass of wine and drinking to get drunk. Places like Peter Piper Pizza and even Chuck E. Cheese serve alcohol, and nobody automatically assumes every parent having a drink there is getting wasted. She was literally just sitting there supporting her kid during a long, boring practice. Let that woman read her book and enjoy her glass of wine 😂

My extended family cannot have a normal family outing without alcohol and as a child I remember it being uncomfortable and annoying, adults think kids do not notice… but they do.
