My mom, heavily influenced by my MAGA sister’s views, was on a tangent about how “if you live in the US, you need to speak English” until I shut her down by saying “didn’t your grandma barely speak English and you had to talk to her in Polish when you visited her?”.

Those type of people are just lucky their first language is English or that they grew up in America so they learned English early on me personally I’m lucky I grew up in America. My first language is Spanish, but I learned English early on

Again, that is not a free speech means. Please read more. I love your content, but free speech means freedom to say what you want, within reason (you can’t scream fire in a crowded theater) - without persecution FROM THE GOVERNMENT. Has nothing to do with everyday life, your job, your business.

I think you should be able to understamd and speak the language of the country you live in. Im sorry but, I am from Austria and I cannot move to usa (or any other non german speaking country) not being able to speak english. How would I be supposed to work and have a daily life there if I couldnt speak the language?

remembering me of a time when at worked at starbucks snd someone talked about showering (which shower in french is douche) and this other customer got so insulted thinking their called him a douche even tho they were not even talking to them or about them 😭
