Idk I loved it as a kid. In my country they released comics basically based on the show but the stories were way different.

A lot of people characterize spiderman as a deadpool rip off but it just doesn't make sense if you actually watch what happen. Spiderman used to joke, quip and have cutaways but spiderman as a character did take what he was doing seriously as he always has. i believe the 4th wall breaks were to establish peter as a narrator similar to how it's done in the comics. They can get excessive but they're not bad. The show mainly suffers from coming after Spectacular Spiderman , similar to Teen Titans and TTG. But if you look at Ultimate Spiderman and TTG for what they are and don't harbour resentment because of the cancelled shows, they're both fun and enjoyable shows

2003 the new animated series is overhated in my opinion. Once you get past the animation style it’s so good. I loved the darker storylines
