so my take is : this shit like saying black people can't be racist, racism neither does new or old matter it's still fucking racism, white watching is racist because it's rejecting black people, and black washing is also racist because it's rejecting white people by reacting to white washing BUT reacting to racism by racism IS STILL RACISM.

Lowkey I get it wanting to be represented but some of the redesigns I’ve seen are just racist stereotypes onto a character that from their inspiration would make no sense to be black. Some of the redesigns are gorgeous tough there is one Mavuika redesign I saw a while back that shows so much more of the culture she’s representing and making her black. That aside I don’t think it’s right to look at every character at turn them black either especially if they’re inspired by a group of people who rarely get representation without it being a stereotype.

The funniest thing is when people whitewash characters they usually do that, make them white even if they’re from xyz. But when people “blackwash” characters, they’re usually black + their original ethnicity/nationality
