With my first we had wayyy too much clothes, and then she came early and needed premie clothes and we had nothing for her to wear… but I’ve had another baby and am due again in Feb since then! I’ve found with both babies I really just needed 2-3 nighttime outfits and 3-4 day time outfits per day we weren’t doing laundry until they were about 6m old (so nb, 0-3, 3-6, and with my second all the way up to 12m clothes but she was a 99th percentile baby and is 14m in 3/4T clothes 😭) and then we were using 1-2 less outfits each night and day bc there were less blow outs and spitting up. We really just needed the 1-2 nighttime and 2-3 daytime until they were around 1y bc starting solids/food exploration is messy but starts to get a lot better around 1y. This was like the minimum we used day to day honestly, we definitely had wayyyy more, but there is so much we never even put them in bc we overbought clothes. And of course special event/holiday items!

I'd wait. I think you have a good start and as long as you aren't having a ton of blowouts that should be fine and you can order more as needed. I have 3 and they were all very different with how fast they grew so I get not being sure with clothes! using burp cloths will help with any spit ups too so you can keep outfits on longer if you need to. congratulations! also if its a boy i used burp cloths when changing to cover up his privates so I could get the new diaper on without getting sprayed 🤣

Personally I'd say minimum 10 of each item in each size preferably even more but I had reflux babies so they went through damn near 10 outfits a day 😂 don't let anyone talk you into skimping on newborn my measuring large baby ended up 7.5lbs and wearing newborn for almost a month even my 9lb baby wore them for weeks my only baby to skip newborn was 10.5lbs 😅

I would wait, you have enough to start and you’ll probably end up doing laundry every few days like I did, especially in the early months. Some babies also get chunky fast so you may end up waisting a lot of stuff. Buy as you go

I got a haul of some nb clothes off Facebook marketplace. Cost almost nothing per item and I can just save or resell if they aren’t needed!

Get some more sleepers!! Otherwise I’d wait and see. Chances are he’ll be in sleepers 90% of the time when he still fits in 0-3 though 😊 or he could be like my daughter and still be wearing 0-3 at 6 months old 🤣🤣

my kids were 9 lbs and almost 9 lbs and they wore newborn clothes for my daughter for 5 weeks because she had a hard gaining weight but my son was in newborn for less than 2 weeks! if you do get more clothes I would focus on 0-3 month sizing!

I had macrosomia with both girls (aka big babies, second one was 9 lbs 2 oz and almost 24 inches long) and she still fit in newborn for 2-3 weeks. He will fit!

Stick with what you have, buy more of what you actually use once he’s born

Even my 9lb baby fit newborn for a few weeks. & both my babies spit terribly. I would get more so you’re not having to wash clothes every single day

I wouldn't buy anything more just my opinion. I just had my 3rd in May. she was my biggest 99% the whole pregnancy. she was 9 pounds 5 oz wore NB for maybe a couple days and is already outgrown 3 month and she is 3 months wearing 9-12 month now 🤣

My baby was 8 pounds 9 ounces and pretty long. He was in newborn for over a month. That being said you probably have enough clothes to start. I’d wait until he gets here and you see how fast your going through clothes or what your needing more of. You might find you like your baby wearing just onesies or just pajamas then you can just get a few of those if needed

I would just go to a resale shop or marketplace and flesh it out a little more with some second hand clothes.

socks & long sleep nightgowns. literally a life saver. doesn't matter if they are premie, nb, or 0-3. until that cords falls off & unless you leave the house just hang out in those sleep sacks/night gowns.

I would say just grab some 0 to 3 months clothing. My baby was only a newborn clothing for about three weeks that’s an average for newborn clothing and then they go to 0-3 months. And Baby spit up at pee and poop a lot you sometimes change your babies outfit 4 to 5 times in one day. My best advice is grab some multi packs from Amazon.

You could get a few more 0-3 items to be safe. My son was 9 lbs 7 oz when he was born and he did fit in newborn for 1 month but all babies are different of course! I would sometimes put my son in 0-3 sleepers if we had dirtied all the newborn so I would say you should definitely be fine on newborn size at least

Stick with what you have. If you order a lot of sleepers your kid will hate them. So. Go with what you’ve got and see what works for him. And don’t worry what other babies did, yours could be totally different. Same with pacifiers. Get one of a bunch of different ones and see which one he likes. Then get a bunch of those. Like a bunch. They’re like hair ties. Just make sure your crib is ready to go now and get that car seat in the car. Otherwise you look very ready.

I had an 8lb 6.6oz baby and she was in newborn sizes for over a month! Her head is also sizable. If he’s long that’s when sizing up is necessary. My girl has been above 95th percentile for height and we’ve only had to change sizes because of length. She wore a lot of capris 😂 We didn’t need a ton because she hardly ever spit up or had blowouts. But we had a lot so I did not have to do laundry 24/7 which was nice!

I’m a very new mom. My baby girl is almost 3 weeks old and 8lbs 2oz at birth. Shes in newborn still. Based on my limited experience I’d say that’s enough IF you’re okay doing laundry multiple times a week - which might be necessary depending on spit ups/leaking diapers (my baby is particularly fond of peeing all over the changing pad when her diaper is open so I change that cover a lot). I probably wash baby clothes every 2-3 days

My daughter spent about 2 full weeks in NB clothes she was 7lb 4oz, we only had like six NB outfits. If your baby is a CHUNK they’ll fit into the 0-3 pretty quickly. I would be more wary about diapers! We only used about 2 boxes of NB diapers and quickly sized into size one.

Honestly if you can, buy bamboo zippys. They are stretchy and you’ll be able to have him wear them for a long time. We were in newborn until 4 months old. And she was in zippys basically until that point. Make your life easy
