honestly he really did save the day bcs orihime sacrifice would have been for nothing. rukia will die bcs nobody near can heal her with a blade literally piercing her organs. ichigo would've been used as planned as a soul king candidate bcs yhwach corpse disappeared. so she would lost her life failing to save them both.
