Jennie Kim was the type of girl teachers used in examples. She's kind, top of her class, and students council president. That’s why half the school had tried their luck. And that’s why half the school got the same answer. “I’m sorry, I’m already married.” But no one believes her. They just laugh. “Sure, Jen. With who, a mangga character?” --- Today was lunch time. Jennie sat with her friends. Irene, the quiet one who read everyone like a book. Rosé, who could sing and steal your snacks in the same breath. Dahyun, who laughed with her whole body. And Tzuyu, tall, soft-spoken. Then a guy walk to them. Kai. Third-year. Basketball captain. His dad owned half of Gangnam. He walked straight to Jennie’s table holding a bouquet and a box of chocolate. “Jennie,” he said, voice practiced. “I know everyone asks you. But I’m asking differently. Be mine.” He held out the flowers. The chocolate. The whole performance. Jennie looked up, and her smile was soft. “Sorry, Kai. I’m already married.” A beat. Then she picked up her chopsticks and went back to eating. Kai blinked. Rosé didn’t even wait. She snatched the chocolate from his hand, ripped it open. “Don’t worry, Kai. She’s always like that to everyone,” Rosé said, already popping one in her mouth. “Thanks for the snack though.” Kai laughed then nodded at Jennie, and walked off. The second he was gone, Irene leaned back and stared at Jennie. “Okay, real talk. That’s like the 5th guy who confessed to you today. Do you collect confession or are you just allergic to couple life?” Dahyun stop eating. “Jennie. That was Kai. Kai, okay. His family is literally one of the richest in Korea. He’s popular, and he brought you chocolate. Why not give him a chance?” Tzuyu tilted her head. “Yeah, Jen. You’re 20. You say ‘married’ like you’re 40.” Jennie put her chopsticks down. “Guys. I already told you. I’m married.” Her voice was steady, eyes were serious. “And what you see right now is nothing compared to my husband. He’s a CEO. He’s rich, attractive, smart, tall, kind, patient, hardworking, protective without being controlling, and he remember everything I like.” She paused. “He’s a perfect husband.” Silence. For two seconds. Then Irene burst out laughing. “Poor you, Jennie. What mangga are you reading?” “Seriously, Jenjen,” Dahyun said, nudging her. “There’s no way a guy looks like that.” Rosé grinned. “Bring him here, Jen. Let us see this perfect husband.” Jennie just frowned and went back to her food. “You wouldn’t believe me anyway.” --- hours had passed. Last class ended. Jennie's driver already waiting by the gate in the black car with tinted windows. “Where are we going, Mr. Choi?” Jennie asked the driver, sliding in. “Mr. Manoban is already at your house, Miss Kim,” he replied. --- Ten minutes later she was pushing open the door of their penthouse. The smell hit her first. Garlic, butter, something sweet. Lisa was in the kitchen, sleeves rolled up, stirring something on the stove. The youngest billionaire CEO in the country, in an apron. Jennie didn’t announce herself. She just walked up and wrapped her arms around Lisa’s waist from behind. Lisa smiled without turning. Finished plating, then turned in Jennie’s arms and scooped her up like she weighed nothing. “You home early?” Jennie asked, legs dangling, arms around Lisa’s neck. “Yup,” Lisa said, and kissed her. Quick, warm, familiar. “Meetings done early. Missed my wife.” They ate. Halfway through, Jennie was poking her food. “Hon... can you show up to my school?” Lisa looked up. “Hm?” “My friends don’t believe me that I’m already married,” Jennie said, pouting. “They think I’m making it up.” Lisa set her fork down and reached over to smooth Jennie’s hair. “Sure, baby.” Jennie’s eyes widened. “Really?” “Really. I was actually planning to be an investor for your school anyway,” Lisa said casually, like she doesn't care about money. Jennie smile: “You’re the best.” “Perfect husband?” Lisa murmured into her. Jennie blush and they continue to eat. --- Next? #jenlisa #au #fyp #lisa #jennie
