she's overthinking it and she's 100% wrong the 50/50 thing is more like 50 to 51%. there is room for error how much DNA you get but if your ancestors have blue eyes or green you'll get those traits too or possible to get this traits you inherit them that's how it works and we know this is true because of gingers that's a recessive trait

It's more complicated, there are some persistan segments of genes, some of them persist over milenia on each generation, the prevalece of endogamy, close communities preserve same genes for generations

but also you have to remember most people 400 years ago lived in small communities so they shared more common ancestors and there was a smaller pool of people, hence slot recycling of the same ancestors, because of people marrying other people who were somewhat related to them. Cousin marriage was common in most of the world too. royalty too, like your average European noble has Charlemagne on both sides of their family in each generation going back over a thousand years.
