I’m so happy you’re enjoying reading Elsa Ferrante and Natalia Ginzburg! I love them! As an Italian who loves reading, I can not stress enough the importance of reading italian female writers almost always left out in our schools curricula and I’m really happy to hear someone who goes further in the exploration as you do🫶🏼 I would also recommend Alba De Cespedes (Il quaderno proibito), Anna Maria Ortese(Il mare non bagna Napoli) and Grazie Deledda(Canne al vento)!

i just finished reading l’isola di arturo by elsa morante and she instantly became one of my favorite writers. i hope the translation do her work justice but if you liked ferrante i’m sure you’ll like morante too!!

as an italian woman I get so happy when people praise our literature 🤍sometimes I feel like it's kinda underrated especially when it comes to female writers. Can't wait until you dive into Elsa Morante's work, I read Arturo's Island last spring and it was simply phenomenal
